AMASA July Forum explores Green leadership in SA
What do consumers expect from the media in terms of Green information? How do we get our house in order and be part of the Green solution? AMASA’s July forum presents informative guidance as to how the media and marketers can use their influence to change behaviour.
Guest presenter Kerri Savin, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at the Nedbank Group delves into the role of media and marketing in driving the Green agenda in South Africa.
The Nedbank Group and The Green Trust are proud conservation partners of the
WWF-SA, together aspiring to reduce the consumption of our natural resources. Nedbank is also the first African bank to adopt the Equator Principles.

The Golf Day
AMASA hosts one Golf Day each year in order to raise funds for the purpose of furthering media education in South Africa. Media owners and agencies arrive in full force each year, providing sponsorships and encouraging colleagues to join them on the golf course. Once prize-giving is completed, the day culminates in a media auction where various media owners who donate media space auction it off to the highest media agency bidder.
Sponsors for 2008 were: ClearChannel; Compleat Golfer; Golf Digest; Daily Sun; Wag the Dog Publishers; Primedia Outdoor; Primedia Broadcasting; Caxton Magazines; The Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) and SABC.
The Annual Party
The annual party, while a cause for a celebration and time for hard working individuals to let their hair down, has a complimentary purpose. AMASA asks every attending company to donate gifts in the form of children's toys which are delivered to the Little Switzerland Children's Home in time for Christmas each year.
Over 1200 industry personnel attend AMASA's annual event each year. Companies and individuals pull out all the stops in creating the most original costumes as each annual party is specifically themed. Prizes are offered for 'Best Dressed Team', 'Best Dressed Individual' and loads more.
