The Johannesburg Chapter of AMASA (Advertising Media Association of South Africa) has completed its voting process and is happy to announce the new committee which will guide AMASA over the next year.

These experts will represent the industry through the various AMASA activities and portfolios by applying their individual views, expertise, time and passion to evoke change and upliftment in the Advertising Media industry. Chairperson Wayne Bischoff welcomes all new and returning members of the 2016/17 committee and wishes AMASA another successful year of growth and innovations.
Strategy Executive – Business Planning, MindShare
2001 to 2005
Andrew’s career journey started in 2001 as a media trainee at Mediashop agency. In a short space of time he was promoted to a position of junior media planner working on blue chip clients like ABSA, ASPEN Pharmacy, SABC TV and Radio brands, and later got promoted to a position of media strategist. His stay at Mediashop lasted until August 2005.
2005 to 2008
In September 2005 he decided to broaden his experience and joined SABC Airtime Sales as a media strategist on a three year contract until the beginning of 2008. During this period he also served as a committee member for an industry organization; Advertising Media Association of South Africa (AMASA) for three years. In 2007 he was part of the panel of judges for the media industry award (Roger Garlic Awards).
2008 to 2012
In January 2008 he joined Primedia Outdoor for a short period of four months as an Outdoor Portfolio Manager. He rejoined The MediaShop in May 2008 as a media strategist on the Coca Cola, ASPEN Pharmacy and SABC brands until mid-August 2012.
During this period, he was invited to sit in a panel of judges for the PICA Awards under Magazine Publishers Association of South Africa (MPASA). The awards recognized publishing excellence in the consumer, customer and business-to-business sectors of the South African magazine publishing industry.
In 2011 and 2012 he was invited to sit on the judging panel for The PRISM Awards. The PRISM Awards are presented to public relations and communication professionals who have successfully incorporated strategy, creativity and professionalism into public relations and communication programs and strategies that showcase a successful public relations campaign.
2012 to 2016
He joined Mindshare in August 2012 as a media strategist working on MTN brand’s Retail Portfolio, Business-to-Business and Cycling Sponsorship Portfolios. And currently serve in the AMASA committee.

Passionate about education and overall transformation in the industry, Bogosi believes in the notion that people need to be uplifted and so he is involved in various initiatives to transform the industry. Bogosi is a lecturer at AAA and Vega School, providing invaluable insights into the industry. Sharing his life experiences, Bogosi provides hope to the students through mentorship. Especially passionate about the advertising and marketing industry, Bogosi writes opinion pieces for BizCommunity, MarkLives and through his personal blog.

I am a passionate and driven individual - with a depth of media, advertising and sales experience but a hunger to learn and keep developing. Challenges keep me motivated and seeing people grow and develop inspires me to keep doing what I do. My objectives is to positively position the company and organizations I work for and their employees for future sustainability and success.
Over 20 years media and marketing experience. Media planning and strategy experience at Abelheim Lee-Duncan, Red Nail and Hunt Lascaris before moving to then Radmark as National Sales Manager. Currently Marketing Manager for the Mediamark Group.

a seasoned communications professional with over 10 years of experience. As co-founder of OnPoint PR Communications, Fatima manages a broad range of communications issues for public and private sector clients in many fields. She has also gained considerable experience in assembling and managing alliances to meet communications objectives. Her current and past clients include Financial Services, Corporates, Lifestyle, Local government, leading industry associations, and not-for-profit organizations.
Prior to co-founding OnPoint PR, Fatima served as the Head of Public Relations for Equazen, a pharmaceutical company based in the UK and Switzerland. Fatima earned her LLB Law Degree from Bristol University and is based between South African and UK.
Communications & Engagement Manager at Heineken SA - Vice Chairperson
Ilsa Grabe is the Communications & Engagement Manager at Heineken. Ilsa joined the Heineken SA Team as Communications & Engagement Manager in August 2016 to increase her exposure to the entire marketing chain with her heart and skill still very firmly in Media. She has a wealth of media strategy experience and has worked across an array of categories in her previous position at Carat. She has won an Internationalist award for Media Innovation, as well as received finalist nominations too. She has also been featured across various media forums for her opinion pieces, and was the youngest Roger Garlick judge ever when she was asked in 2010. She is driven and has a great passion for the industry and developing talent by training when she can. With a burning passion for training and development Ilsa loves imparting knowledge through inspiring young strategists to challenge the norm and push boundaries to solve business challenges for their clients. She has lectured extensively and loves every minute of uplifting the industry.

Little did I know that a new journey would begin where I would eventually find my passion for 'storytelling' through Radio Advertising. In the 9 years of experience in the industry, I’ve grown professionally and personally- this has granted me the opportunity to discover my leadership skills. Mpho Maseko has more than 10 years’ experience in the Integrated Marketing Communications field. Mpho’s career began in Public Relations as an intern for David Barritt and Company. She then moved on to cut her teeth in the advertising industry where her experience at this agency included delivering services for clients.
Events management and media planning were the core skills that Mpho developed when she joined the Gauteng Provincial Legislature as the Public Relations Officer. After graduating in a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Wits Business School, she joined the SABC where she held a senior management position. Quinton Scholes joined CNBC Africa in June 2007. Now as Group Head of Sales: Quinton’s responsibilities now include, achieving revenue targets, development and growth sales in new strategic areas, managing the sales bureaus across Africa and directly overseeing the sales teams in Johannesburg and Cape Town for the entire ABN Group. Having worked in the media industry for more than 17 years, across multiple platforms both locally and internationally.

After working for a few smaller media companies in sales and management roles, I ventured into the world of Entrepreneurship and started Contact Media and Communications in June of 2008. The aim was to build a company that offered media platforms to markets that required high end solutions, with a strong emphasis on content. an entrepreneur, film producer and co-founder and CEO of Fort,
currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He is a graduate of the University of Cape Town with a degree in Law and Politics
and is a pioneer in creating an in-sourcing structure for film, media and creative
services in South Africa. As CEO of Fort, which has launched offices in Kenya and
Nigeria, Shukri Toefy has developed a shared prosperity model in which one
percent of the company is owned by Fort's sustainability arm Hold The Fort, and ten
percent by its employees.
Shukri is also founder of The Rainmakers Journal and narrator of the independent
short film Unwritten: A Visual Journey of Nepal (2016), shot on location in the
Kathmandu Valley under the Fort and Rainmakers Journal label. The film has won at
the Amsterdam Film Festival and Hollywood International Documentary Awards

Observatory conference and is set to host a masterclass at The Loeries® 2017,
Africa's premier initiative that recognises, rewards, inspires and fosters creative

With Global experience at GroupM’s MEC in Sydney, Australia he won a number of awards including B&T’s Media Campaign of the Year.
